Takeley Local History Society meetings are normally held in the hall at Takeley Primary School, Roseacres, Takeley. The meetings start at 7.30pm and are open to all - members free, non members £2 .

4th July Visit to Hatfield Forest. Starting at 11.00am from "Pantiles" (opposite the Green Man) a gentle walk of just over 3 miles through Hatfield Forest returning at approximately 1.30pm. John Monk will conduct us to the site of the Doodle Oak and the wartime ammunition dump.
29 September (Please note that this was previously advertised as 15th September) A WALK WITH THE ADMIRAL - The history of a suburban road.” Speaker Richard Thomas. - A simple story of a street, from the first land records in 1527 up to modern aerial photographs of the 1990's. You see the plans of the Victorian developer, meet the first families and follow the growth of the community up to the present day.
